The Consensus Forecast
The NBM (National Blend of Models) is unique — it's not a weather model itself. It's a statistical blend of GFS, NAM, HRRR, ECMWF, and several other models, combined with recent observations and historical bias correction.
The result is usually the single most accurate forecast product available, because it takes the best aspects of each model and averages out their individual errors.
Temperature maps from NBM are what most weather apps actually display when they show you "the forecast." The colored contours show predicted 2-meter temperature (what you feel at ground level) in Fahrenheit.
For equestrians: NBM temperature forecasts are your most reliable source for planning around heat stress, freeze risk, and general comfort. If NBM says 95°F, plan for 95°F. It's usually within 2-3 degrees.
